A musical narrative dedicated to the eternal cycle of creation and destruction, integrated into the Light Festival Karlsruhe on the occasion of the 11^th Assembly of the World Council of Churches. “We humans are fish in exile” transfers the baroque sarabande by George Frideric Handel into the electronic age and incorporates the theory of evolution as well as the fish as an early Christian symbol for Jesus Christ. Peter Weibel has been Artistic and Scientific Director of the ZKM Centre for Art and Media Karlsruhe and curator of the Light Festival Karlsruhe since 1999. Nikolaus Völzow is a system developer for interactive installations, audio-visual works and multimedia solutions for performances.
